K. Rove's new role: below the radar

I couldn't resist an evening post - especially since it is about Rove. He can't get on anyone's radar - Repubs, conservs no longer care what he has to say.

Sources say he has turned to street art in his spare time.

Civil War in Iraq: The Anti-Scare Tactic

  • The WH refuses to admit there is a civil war in Iraq (despite what the Pentagon says) - I mean, you'd have to be crazy to unlink (in any way) the violence in Iraq and our invasion there from the greater war on terror.
  • Hamas and Republicans are slowly both being asked questions like: what have you done for us lately?

  • At least Kofi is talking to them.

  • Democrat of the day: Patrick Murphy

On Republicans: `As for everything else, they're killing our country, as far as I'm concerned.''

  • Within the happy drug benefit recipients, you may just find the quote of the day (see title of this post) on Republicans by a different "Libby."

  • Rahm, Pelosi and Reid should be outside of every Rove and Co. speech over the next two weeks yelling about the greatest risk to Americans: Bush.

  • Obama will visit Africa in five years as US VP.

  • Is there still an American Dream?

  • The maybe-moderate-future-President that won't win talks straight.

The "Syran" Policy - It Doesn't Exist

  • How about Hackett for national DNC Spokesman!

  • Novak and "Pitiful" go well together.

Take 9 Minutes of Your Time to Watch This

We in the progressive blogosphere have, for all intents and purposes, one overarching goal: to help elect Democrats to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Whether it's by raising money for progressive candidates at places like ActBlue, being watchdogs of the media and Republican hypocrisy at places like MediaMatters and ThinkProgress, or simply trying to help everyone stay in touch with what's going on in the world of American politics at websites like this one or DailyKos, that's the point in the end.

But one could make a very good case that ultimately none of that matters until we make sure the elections are not simply stolen. Give yourself 9 minutes, and try not to let this blow your mind.

Rumsfeld Shifts From Lying About Iraq to Questioning War Opponents' Patriotism

In a "political rant to cover up his incompetence," Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld went back to the well again today, claiming that critics of the War in Iraq "seem not to have learned history's lessons," and are telling "myths and lies and distortions" about the war and the misconduct of some of our troops. Rumsfeld is not only incompetent, he is despicable. He has lied from the get-go about this war, from Saddam's so-called WMD's to links between Iraq and 9/11, to even claiming he "never painted a rosy picture" about Iraq. At least Senators Jack Reed, D-R.I. and Harry Reid, D-NV, had the intestinal fortitude to call Rummy out.

Separation of Katherine Harris and Reality

With a history of deciding who wins elections behind her, Katherine Harris now wants to decide who makes the laws.
